Johnson at Cornell University to celebrate its 64th commencement, May 28
School will launch nearly 500 new MBAs and six PhDs into the exciting and challenging waters of the global economy this coming weekend
On Saturday, May 28, Joe Thomas, the tenth dean of the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University, will congratulate the school’s newest graduates (nearly 500 MBAs and PhDs), ask them to reflect on their experiences at Johnson and encourage them to do well by doing good as they further their careers. The 2011 class of Cornell MBAs will be entering or advancing within fields such as asset management, consulting, sustainable enterprise and marketing which, as Thomas will remind students, are areas that today, need the attention of well trained and thoughtful minds more than ever.
Friends and family will congregate to celebrate the herculean accomplishment of their loved ones at one of two recognition ceremonies: the Executive MBA (EMBA) ceremony (which will be for graduates of the Cornell EMBA or the Cornell-Queens EMBA) or the Residential ceremony (which will include graduates of the two-year and Accelerated MBA programs).
Johnson graduates and their guests are also welcomed to attend events of Cornell University’s commencement including the Senior Convocation speech by former Mayor of New York City and 2008 presidential candidate, Rudy Giuliani on May 28, at noon in Shoellkopf Stadium. Johnson graduates may also march with the entire 143rd graduating class of Cornell University and take part in the university’s commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 29 at 11 a.m., also in Shoellkopf Stadium.
