Robert T. Symington

Biography

Rob Symington is currently a Senior Advisor at ITE Capital Management, a U.S. based investment firm. Symington has spent over 30 years as a principal investor, most recently as a Senior Advisor and Senior Portfolio Manager for the Avenue Capital Group U.S. Funds. Prior to joining Avenue, Rob was the Chief Investment Officer of the Resurgence Funds at M.D. Sass Investment Services. During his career, Symington has participated as an investor and active distressed manager in a number of major restructurings including American Airlines, United Airlines, USAirways, Delta Airlines, General Motors, GMAC, CIT and Trump Casinos.

Symington is also a member of the faculty at Cornell University's Johnson Graduate School of Management, having joined as a Senior Lecturer of Finance in 2015. Symington received a B.A. in English Literature from Dickinson College and a M.B.A. from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. In addition to being a member of the Board of Trustees at Dickinson College, Rob also serves on one private company board, CycloPure, Inc.
