Graduates of the Cornell-Tsinghua Finance MBA program will receive two degrees; an MBA from Cornell University and an MBA from the PBC School of Finance (PBCSF) at Tsinghua University. Management and Finance MBA Curriculum

The Cornell-Tsinghua Finance MBA curriculum, which combines theory and practice in 60 credits, is presented in four modules. The core/basic module provides deep insights related to finance, operations, economics, and management. Later in the program, you’ll complete modules on entrepreneurship and innovation along with elective courses based strongly in finance. All students participate in and complete a negotiation practicum, Wall Street trek, fintech hackathon, and thesis.

Best Finance MBA: A Unique International Learning Experience

The Cornell-Tsinghua program is divided into classroom sessions and residential sessions. Seventy-five percent of coursework will be completed in China—the majority of classroom sessions take place every other weekend. The remaining 25 percent of the program consists of US residential sessions, specifically at Cornell’s campuses in Ithaca, NY, and New York City. While in Ithaca, you’ll have the opportunity to work with other Johnson MBA students on joint projects and case competitions and hear from guest speakers who are leaders in the finance arena.

The part-time international finance program brings together faculty from Cornell and Tsinghua universities. You’ll learn subject matter in English and Mandarin from some of academia’s most respected professors. We also invite industry leaders and program alumni to speak on current finance and economic topics. You’ll learn from people who are role models in leadership, integrity, and social responsibility.


Cornell-Tsinghua Finance MBA Residential Session Requirements

Students in the Cornell-Tsinghua Finance MBA program must attend all two residential sessions, which are held in Ithaca, New York, on the Cornell University campus and New York City. These 17-day sessions are held in October each academic year. Accommodations and part of meals are included in your program tuition.

Cornell-Tsinghua photo contest

To celebrate Ithaca and capture the beauty that surrounds the program’s experiential residential sessions, the Cornell-Tsinghua program hosted a photo contest with the theme, “A Fall Fairy Tale @ Cornell.”

First-, second-, and third-place winners were voted on by 1,202 Cornell-Tsinghua students and alumni. Staff selected two special awardees: the Best Cornell Spirit award and the Best Cornell Culture award.
