Biography
Pietro Bini is a fifth-year Ph.D. student in the Finance Department at Cornell University's SC Johnson College of Business, and recipient of the Byron E. Grote Johnson Professional Scholarship. His research lies at the intersection between Asset Pricing and Deep Learning. His current work focuses on modeling the portfolio choices of heterogeneous institutional investors and their impact on the equilibria of financial markets. In his research, Pietro uses deep learning techniques in order to leverage on the greater flexibility and regularization features compared to traditional parametric approaches. Pietro is also a student member of The Econometric Society and participant in the 2023 summer school in Structural Estimation with Deep Learning. Pietro received a B.Sc. and M.Sc. cum laude from Bocconi University.
